Let's Talk: All Authors

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! Yes, I know it isn't Thursday, but who says that one can't talk on any other day? 😀 Today is the last day of May which also marks the last day of National Short Story Month. In case you haven't been around much, each member of the All Authors Family released a brand new short story. On top of that, it's yours to get for FREE. Let's do a recap, in case you missed it. To start off the month, my erotica partner in crime, Adonis Mann, debuted "Twin Flame Duplicity". Not too far behind was the Paranormal Princess C. Desert Rose with "Angelic Epiphany". Sneaking behind the pack was the Cryptic Enigma Da'Kharta Rising with an interesting dramedy based on current events in "Apocawhat?" Landing in the middle is Yours Truly with the comedy-erotic mashup "Brielle". Soon thereafter, we have Queen of Spades, documenting a race against time in "Finding My Heart". Last but certainly not least, the talen

Coming Soon: The Smashwords Experiment

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! Typically, I am not one to post on Saturdays. I'm busy doing other things, such as ... Catching up on shows I miss during the week 👀 Trying to decide on my next nail color Which wine I'm in the mood to drink🍷 To glam, or not to glam 💄 What brought me out of my routine was a question given to me by one of my writer friends:  How has transcendence in your writing career helped or hindered you? thinking thinking thinking Even after the person and I continued with other topics, the question still lingered. This brought forth another question: Am I actually transcendent in the genre I'm most known for, which is erotica? In order to do that, I must get back out there to read the erotica trends which are trending. Since some places are strict about showcasing any erotic works, I sought out a site that I knew would have the material. I settled on Smashwords because they have some selections that won't hurt the pocketbook. Here are the guidelines I'

Let's Talk: A.L.O.M. Episode 3: Underearth (Y. Correa Takeover)

Image
Hey, y'all. Hope you're all doing well. Okay, okay. I'm gonna keep it real. I procrastinated way too long to finish this chapter in the A.L.O.M. adventure. I know. Considering that I wrote the very first story in 2014, I should be ashamed of myself for waiting 6 years to write the 3rd part. The worst of it all is that it's a short story! Shame on me! For shame, Y. Correa! For shame! Okay, now that I have beaten myself with a stick for tarrying on this release ... It was the year 2014, midsummer. Lying in her bed was a lowly author who was binge-watching Ancient Aliens on Hulu. This was one of her favorite things to do next to binge-watching Doctor Who on Netflix. There she was, munching on popcorn whilst she lay; the popcorn bowl sitting on her chest. Periodically a kernel would fall into unmentionable places. She cared not to fish it out. She could save those for later should she get a hankering for a treat. Soon, her eyel

Let's Talk: Finding My Heart

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! I am very happy that Miss Desire has allowed me to be here to discuss my newest short story offering "Finding My Heart". Blurb: Leopold Hawkins Threadbare is revered for his scientific genius, which has blessed him with great fortune. When the lovely Katarina is less than impressed, their disagreement spirals him into unexpected circumstances. Time is of the essence. The treasure is Leopold’s heart. The reward is his life. Discover if Leopold achieves success in Finding My Heart . Excerpt: “Leopold Hawkins Threadbare, in matters of the heart, you are one of the most obtuse human beings on the planet!” Flabbergasted at her statement, I shouted. “Rina, why so salty? I thanked you for being there for me. What else do you want?” The porter pointed at the watch, signaling the last call for passengers. Katarina sighed. “I pray it won’t be too late by the time you figure out the answer.” She kissed me on my right cheek. “Th

Let's Talk: Taint on Religion

Image
Hello everyone! Queen of Spades here, dropping by Synful Desire's "Interludes" to talk about my earliest short story freebie "Taint on Religion". Blurb: Natasha was taught three things: to love God, to love herself, and to always go to church. When a sea of tragedy strikes in her youth, she strays from the path of God. Realizing the error of her ways, she seeks redemption in her adult years. Reverend Jamison and his church looks to be the answer to her prayers. Yet when things in the dark come to the light, Natasha is faced with a tough decision. Does she stay silent with her discovery or does she dare put a taint on religion? *** With "Taint on Religion" I tackle quite a few subjects. How one processes tragedy and going down an improper path. If a church can truly be forgiving. If a person's intentions are actually pure or have an ulterior motive. The reader goes through all the motions with Natasha but that doesn't mean that

Let's Talk: When Summer Lingers

Image
Good day everyone! I am Queen of Spades. My main genres are poetry and contemporary fiction. Synful Desire has been kind enough to allow me to talk about one of my short story freebies "When Summer Lingers". Blurb: Dahna is quite comfortable in her role as an outcast. Her favorite activities are painting her nails and hanging out on the beach. An observation by the quirky Carr leads to an endearing friendship between two unlikely people. Overall, When Summer Lingers covers the tale of two individuals. Dahna is withdrawn and accustomed to being a loner. Carr is more extroverted and open to making new friends. During the summer, an important message is driven home: to treasure time and the experiences you have with others. This free short story is available on my website as well as on the Freebies section of the All Authors Publishing House website.

Grab a taste of imagination on expresso while savoring Kona. Enjoy this short yet stimulating read! Until next time,

Let's Talk: Brielle

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! I hope you have had fun thus far during National Short Story Month. So far, a few folks have stopped by to discuss and share information on how to get their freebies. Guess whose turn it is? Today I would like to discuss my newest freebie, entitled "Brielle". Although I played around with a few other titles, I decided to settle on my working title, which is rare for me. Think of Brielle as a bit of a modern-day woman. She is laser-focused on her career goals. Brielle isn't relationship oriented but recognizes that she has needs. Brielle has an interesting way to fulfill said needs. I will let your imagination fill in the rest. "Brielle" is a mix of relationship reflection, light erotic situations, and comedy. If you remember the vibe of "Handy", then you will get the gist of "Brielle". "Brielle" is available on my website and in my Freebie section of the All Authors Publishing Hou

Let's Talk: Apocawhat?

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! It's an All Authors Family Affair during National Short Story Month. Today, I invite Sister In Literature Da'Kharta Rising once more to stop by Interludes to debut a brand new freebie called "Apocawhat?". Yo! I see you rolled out the red carpet with all of my favorites. I think I'll take some of the miniature chocolate to go (throws two handfuls in the satchel). What can I say? Comfort food is in short supply. Besides, you never know when the world's going to come to an end. Well, that was a fitting segue into the subject of my latest freebie "Apocawhat?". From the outside, it's about two siblings going on their routine shopping run, only to discover it's anything but that once they arrive at the supermarket. However, there are other scenarios going on apart from that. It boils down to how people react during a crisis, along with what people are willing to do in order to get what they want. In

Let's Talk: Vocal Remedy

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! It's an All Authors Family Affair during National Short Story Month. Today, I invite Sister In Literature Da'Kharta Rising to stop by Interludes to discuss one of her freebies "Vocal Remedy". Hey Desire! Thanks for letting me crash the pad to talk about one of my first short stories, "Vocal Remedy". I like writing literature that makes the reader think. Where the reader cannot quite decide what is the reality of actions along with the true nature of the characters.  In Vocal Remedy , the two main characters in the spotlight are a music teacher named Mr. Choice and one of his top students named Vaser. As the story unfolds deeper, the reader has to decide not only on the appropriateness of their interaction but whether what follows is a proper remedy. Check out the story on my website or on All Authors Publishing House . P.S. I'll be back on Interludes a bit later this week to debut a newer short story

Let's Talk: Martina's Memories & Angelic Epiphany

Image
Hello, one and all. As always, thanks for stopping by. For us, the lovers of the paranormal, fate is preferably manifested supernaturally. That's because for us, fate being embodied in an otherworldly way brings a sense of excitement, mystery and importance to life. However, those who believe that fate is real also trust that it takes place in even those things we consider mundane. Like what? Every day life. In celebration of short story month, I would like to bring you something old and something new. In both, we will find an exhibition of fate as experienced by the characters in the interpersonal enigma that is life. Join me? First: The Old Blurb: Martina Foxworthy only knew one thing for sure in her life ... the Log Cabin. It was her family's tradition to visit the Log Cabin every year, and every new year was a repeat of the last. Nothing ever changed at the Cabin, Martina's family liked it that way. But Martina, not so much. One da

Let's Talk: ... and we (Adonis Mann Takeover)

Image
Though this was not the first story I'd ever written it was the first story I'd ever had published. "... and we" was my short story contribution to "Concordant Vibrancy: Unity" the very first book in the Concordant Vibrancy collection by All Authors Publishing House. I am particularly proud of this story, mostly because of the memories attached to it. It was the story that paved my way into the writing world. It gave me a name  in so many ways. Before "... and we" I was just Donny, the introverted gay man that no one knew, the loner that loved the written word but had no one to share that with. This story opened the door for me to not just achieve my life long dream, but connect with like-minded people. Amazingly talented writers that accepted me just as I was. For this, I will eternally be grateful to (1) All Authors Publishing House and its founders, and (2) "... and we". Blurb: Fierce decadence, blissful apex and eup

Let's Talk: Let's Play on Valentine's Day (Adonis Mann Takeover)

Image
This happens to be a freebie that I do not much speak of. Truth be told, I'm not certain why I don't. This short story was written approximately 6 years ago on Valentine's Day. It was a spur of the moment, off the cusp tale that just came to me. It was short and sweet and a tiny bit erotic, but most importantly ... fun . In this little story, I dabbled with very light bondage. The sort that is meant for play and levity in a relationship, not as a sexual preference or fixation. I imagined a couple attempting to do something new on Valentine's Day thereby spicing up their every day sexual encounters with dalliance. Mirth, I find, in a relationship that may have become bland and repetitive can be just what the doctor ordered. This is the premise on which "Let's Play on Valentine's Day" was written. Blurb: Who doesn’t love a bit of kinky play on Valentine’s Day? Take a short and personal, yet ravishing trip to some eccentric wordpl
