Location Interview (featuring Heaven)

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! Today you are in for a special treat. In C. Desert Rose's upcoming book "From Whence Jasmine Blooms", the main location the story is set in is Heaven. Today, Heaven set some time out of one's busy schedule to answer some questions from my friends and me.   Does Heaven look in any way like Earth? If it is, how so? If not, what would Heaven be comparable to? For the comfort of it’s pedestrians, yes Heaven does have a similarity to Earth. Of course, it is on a much more ethereal and celestial scale. This means, don’t expect to be walking on concrete or cement roads. Here the roads are made of gold and the seas look like crystal. What is the mode of transportation in Heaven? Magic! Just think of where you want to go and you’ll be there. But, have no fear, for those who like long commutes or road trips there are options. Anywhere from riding on the local pegasus to taking the express air train. The transportation is only limi

Origins and Cover Reveal (From Whence Jasmine Blooms)

Hello Awesome Visitors! Let's Talk! I am happy to feature fellow All Authors Publishing House writer C. Desert Rose on her cover reveal for "From Whence Jasmine Blooms". Today, she speaks on how this latest work all came about. One day I woke up with an image stuck in my head—I couldn’t shake it. The picture was vivid and it felt profound to me, as if it were tied to something that was on the cusp of being realized. Some may call it a vision or revelation. Honestly, I’d be pushing the envelope too far if I said that it was divinely inspired, for I can’t say that with certainty. But one thing I can say with absoluteness is that I saw this depiction in my mind’s eye as clear as day. That day I met with my publisher and her representatives and talked a little bit about this image I’d had stuck in my psyche. Immediately the graphic designer put pen to paper and perfectly duplicated the picture I’d seen. It was a flower laying atop a dark sur

My Insights (Amoresels Blog Tour)

Image
Hello everyone! Let's Talk! In case you missed my visit with the wonderful Queen of Spades, we discussed my insights, broken down into categories, as it relates to my newest work Amoresels : Funniest Story Most Challenging Story Favorite Story Funniest story For me, the funniest story in Amoresels is “Taste on the Move”. It takes place in an office environment where the main character is in a meeting but his mind is elsewhere. I won’t expand on “the elsewhere” because it gives away the story, but I do think that everyone can relate to being bored or preoccupied with other things while at work. Most challenging story There were quite a few but the one that stands out is “Pleasure’s Blur”. In Amoresels , I challenged myself to take on certain topics that even I had to shake my head and ponder the appeal. “Pleasure’s Blur” dealt with the most challenging components. I believe I was able to deliver the content in a very authentic way while taking myself

The Clapback on Censorship (Amoresels Blog Tour)

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! Let's Talk! Unless you've been sleeping under a bridge (if you have been, I'm sorry), you know that my emergence in the publishing world was an erotic author. Although I have explored other genres since then, erotica is where I feel most at home. Yet, in the world, erotica is just as bigger villain as a serial killer. Unfortunately, people would rather entertain violence than nudity or sex. Today, I give you a snippet on the guest post I did on Author Y. Correa's blog where I clapback on censorship. Erotica is painted out as a villain, even as it sits in the shadows not doing anything wrong. There’s an age restriction on erotica, so kids have no business even looking at it in the first place. Yet, there’s this all-out war against the genre, so much so, that you find it in mainstream spots less and less. Yes, some of the writers (I don’t dare deem those types authors) are putting out garbage that I wouldn’t even read. Yet

The Birth of Amoresels

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! Let's Talk! I don't know about you but I'm still reeling from that awesome Cover Reveal of Amoresels and the wonderfully done book trailer. The other day I spoke on "Why Flash Fiction." Today I stopped over at fellow author C. Desert Rose's spot to speak about how Amoresels came to be. I will post tidbits of what I said here but for the complete blow by blow, visit her website: C. Desert Rose (from Guest Post) I must confess something to all: Most of my ideas for projects come from unusual places and can bounce in and out of my brain within seconds. Amoresels was one of those. However, I thought I could shove Amoresels to the side. Surely, it could wait until I finished all the rest of my pending projects. I don’t know how it is for my fellow writers, but even if I have a deadline set for certain things, characters and events have minds of their own. That is when the concept for Amoresels took

Why Flash Fiction? #ABT (Amoresels Blog Tour)

Image
Hello Awesome Visitors! I know you are used to us talking on Thursdays and Sundays, but for this special event, I suppose we can break from tradition. Today I want to dish on my new project “Amoresels”, specifically the question most are curious about: Why flash fiction? One of the main reasons is because I like a challenge. You see, the majority of my works have been very ambitious in vision, which has led to a larger than anticipated word count. I underestimate not only how much my characters have to say but how many keystrokes it takes to get to each of my, what I call, pressure points. Usually, it’s anywhere from 25 to 50 percent longer than predicted. Even when I have allocated more words, I tend to exceed my estimate. I guess my abhorrence for restraint extends beyond me … lol. Wait a minute! Guess I have to get back to the point, don’t I? Well, I wanted a break from being the Lass of Lengthy Literary Speak. (Yeah, I made that up). What better way to

Ask The Cover (Amoresels Blog Tour)

Image
The first “Ask the Cover” segment was initiated during the Pleasure Prints blog tour. I thought it was so snazzy that I decided to adapt it for Amoresels . Interviewers, have at it! The lips look very real. Do they belong to the author? Hmmm … that is a very interesting question indeed. I would like to believe so, but I don’t have eyes, so I can’t say for sure. However, imagining that a random picture of lips was used on the cover is just as weird a concept. To make me feel at ease, I’m going to go with yes. I’d hate to be accused of theft. Why are the cherries on the cover? That’s my question too! I honestly think cherries are overrated. Sure, one can stick the tip of the tongue between the stem and the whole balancing act crap is sexy. However, other fruits can be sexy, like strawberries, watermelon, red grapes … just saying. Maybe the author likes cherries or feels the target audience likes cherries. For the record, I don’t. Would you have picked this
